What this service does
The site helps you check and compare up to five business name candidates in a selected US state or the District of Columbia. It provides preliminary name-check results, browser-saved shortlists and links to relevant filing and reservation resources. It does not form a company, reserve a name or submit a filing for you.
Availability is not approval
Results come from a third-party name-check service and reflect the response received at the time of your request. “Looks available” is not a guarantee that a name is legally usable or will be accepted. Final name approval is made by the state.
A name may become unavailable, or a result may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. “Check not completed” does not mean a name is available. Verify current requirements with the official filing authority before paying fees or relying on a name.
The checker does not provide trademark clearance, domain availability or a complete search of every DBA or trade name. A state name-check result does not establish ownership of a name or permission to use another party's trademark. Choosing an LLC ending changes the name presentation, not the underlying availability result.
No professional or government relationship

Your use of the site

Saved names and copies
Your shortlist is stored in your browser, not in an account on our server. Browser settings, clearing site data or device loss can remove saved names. Keep your own copy if you need a lasting record; a saved result does not reserve the name or remain current indefinitely.
